Hello Float Hub family,

We wanted to give you a comprehensive update on our progress since the flooding incident in recent months. We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting news, and we’re pleased to share the positive steps we’ve taken towards reopening.

Facing the Challenge, Building Anew

As you know, a burst Thames Water pipe caused significant flooding at our centre. To ensure a thorough and lasting restoration, we had no choice but to close temporarily. The initial assessment revealed the extent of the damage, and we immediately began the process of stripping out the centre. This involved taking apart everything from flooring and showers to our float pods and walls. It was a big task, but necessary to get to the root of the problem.

The Drying Process: Patience is Key

We’re now in the hands of expert drying professionals, who are working diligently to remove all residual moisture. They’ve estimated the drying period will take approximately six weeks which, having started last week, will bring us to mid-April. While this is a week or so longer than we initially anticipated, and the strip out took an additional 1.5 weeks, we are prioritising a thorough and lasting fix. This phase is crucial for
preventing future issues and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our community.

Looking Ahead

While navigating the challenges of restoration, we’ve also been identifying improvements to enhance your Float Hub experience. We’re committed to providing the ultimate float therapy experience, and this unexpected downtime has given us the opportunity to refine our centre. While we are working with insurers, we are also taking the opportunity to make some planned adjustments to improve the use & resilience of our float rooms. We will release more information on these as the project progresses.

The Build Begins Soon!

Our builders are ready to begin work as soon as the drying process is complete, which at time of writing is scheduled to be a further 4-5 weeks. We’re aiming for a 4-6 week build time, and we’ll keep you updated on the progress. We understand how much you value your time at Float Hub, and we’re working hard to get our doors open again as soon as possible.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We want to express our sincere gratitude for your understanding and support during this challenging time. Your messages of encouragement have meant the world to us. We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive community.

We’ll continue to provide regular updates on our progress. Stay tuned for more news, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to a refreshed and revitalized Float Hub!
